Delft, circa 1730
Formed as a Chinese man with a bald head and goatee, wearing a robe patterned all over with clusters of dots, the front and voluminous sleeves also with stylized blossoms and the back with floral and foliate sprigs, his sash tied with a bowknot at the front, and modeled bent slightly forward with his hands behind his back supporting a wicker pannier pierced at the top with fourteen holes for flower stems.
