Delft, 1690-1700
Painted in the center in shades of blue with two Chinese figures, their faces and robes heightened in ochre-yellow, seated before a wine pot under an architectural arch heightened in gilding, hung with three tassels and surrounded by shrubbery within a scroll-patterned roundel edged with iron-red and gilt lines, the covet and rim with six fan-shaped panels painted alternately with a seated Chinese figure heightened in ochre-yellow or a large floral sprig heightened in gilding, and divided by narrower panels of a stylised floral sprig within squiggly lines, all within an iron-red lie and blue band at the rim edge, the underside with alternating I and O motifs.
