• D1770. Pair of Polychrome Groups of Boys Riding Lions
Delft, circa 1775
Each boy wearing a yellow trimmed green jacket, a light blue waistcoat, blue breeches and manganese shoes and head, and modeled affronté, seated astride a yellow and manganese-coated lion, one arm raised, the other holding the neck hair of the lion, and the animal standing foursquare on the green top of an oval base decorated around the edge with an iron-red dotted yellow foot rim.
Heights: 20.8 and 20.3 cm. (8.2 and 8 in.)
