D1857. Pair of Petit Feu Polychrome and Gilded Milking Groups

Modeled affronté, each cow with an iron-red spotted and powdered pale iron-red hide, a black forelock, tail, eyes and hooves, an iron-red muzzle and ears and gilded horns, wearing garlands of iron-red, salmon and gilded flowers and green leaves around its neck and back, standing foursquare and being milked by a maid wearing a green hat, an iron-red bodice and iron-red and green, yellow and red checkered skirt, or a youth wearing a red coat, yellow breeches and black hat, each seated with a pail between his or her feet at the semicircular front of the chamfered rectangular base, its canted sides marbleized in blue, yellow and iron-red, and its green top molded with frogs and leaves.
