The arms surmounted by a crowned helmet and winged crest, a banner inscribed .C.C. HOEKKE.1719 below, Mercury standing to the right, the border with rocaille shells and stiff-leaf tips suspending swags, the underside of the rim with ribbon-tied artemesia leaves

NOTE
Coat of arms of Christoffel Fabius van Hoecke (1665–1720), a merchant in textiles and a military solicitor in The Hague. His father, silversmith Adriaan van Hoecke, married Johanna Brechtel in 1659, the daughter of Hans Brechtel, dean of The Hague’s goldsmiths’ guild. After Hans’s death, Adriaan also took over the role of military solicitor.

SIMILAR EXAMPLESTwo similar plates are part of the collection at the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam. They were gifted by the heirs of J.F. Loudon from The Hague in 1916 and are registered under inventory numbers BK-NM-12400-287 and BK-NM-12400-288. Another one is Collection of the Museum Prinsenhof Delft. with Inventory number LM 2128. On loan from the Cultural Heritage Agency of the Netherlands.
