D2507. Blue and White Double-Gourd-Shaped Vase
Delft, circa 1670
Painted on the spherical body with a continuous scene depicting figures conversing in a landscape of pines and rocks, just below the waist a white band decorated with scroll ornaments, the upper section with a stylistic landscape scene, and the flaring neck featuring a border of stiff leaves in two sizes.

A fragment of a similarly decorated but differently modeled vase is in the collection of the Rijksmuseum, Amsterdam (inv. no. BK-1979-22-A). A porcelain example with a similar shape and decoration can be found in the collection of the Groninger Museum, Groningen (inv. no. 2015.0219).
