Delft, circa 1710
Marked PAK No 8 in iron-red for Pieter Adriaensz. Kocx, the owner of De Grieksche A (The Greek A) factory from 1701 to 1703, or his widow Johanna van der Heul, the owner from 1703 to 1722.
Painted on the front of the spherical body with a long-tailed parrot perched on a peony branch near chrysanthemums and a pierced rock in a fenced garden, on the reverse with another perched parrot beneath two in flight, on the shoulder with two vignettes of perched parrots separated by chrysan- themum blossoms above a lotus petal border, and on the upper section with floral sprays and sprigs beneath a border of floral and foliate lappets around the flaring neck.
