Description
Note
The arms and crest are those of the Deckkers family, which was alternatively written as Deckers, Decker or Dekker. Typical of armorial wares, this plate was probably commissioned by a family member to commemorate a special event, for example a marriage. According to the Wapenboek (Book of Coat of Arms) in Collection W.A. des Bouvries, p. 22, the coat of arms of the Deckkers family consists of a squirrel seated on a green ground, against a silver background, accompanied in the bottom part of the crest by three red lilies against a silver background.
