D1860. Pair of Petit Feu Polychrome and Gilded Figures of Horses

Each with a manganese-spotted white hide, manganese ears, manes and twisted tail adorned with pairs of yellow and iron-red blossoms, black hooves and wearing a black saddle patterned with iron-red and gilded demi- flowerheads and green leaves over a red-fringed and tasseled saddle blanket patterned with trellis diaper work reserved with a yellow and green scroll on the red-dotted ground, and modeled affronté with one foreleg raised above the green top of a chamfered rectangular base, its sides with colorful trellis diaper work and the corners reserved on the black ground with a green leaf.
Lengths: 21.2 and 22.5 cm. (8.3 and 8.9 in.)
